Tu B'Shvat

Tu B'Shvat is known as the Jewish Arbor Day, which begs the question: What is Arbor Day, anyway? Apparently, it has something to do with nature and trees. Same with Tu B'Shvat, which stands for the 15th of the Hebrew month Shvat, and is a day to celebrate Israel's environment and nature. Special foods for the day include the seven biblical fruits-dates, figs, pomegranates, um…you get the idea. Tu B'Shvat generally falls in January, a fine time to go outside and plant trees if you're in Israel, not as fine a time if you're shoveling twelve inches of snow off your Minneapolis driveway.
