Shehecheyanu is the blessing you say when you do something for the first time, or when you arrive at an important time in the calendar or a special time of your life. It is a part of most major festivals.
Baruch atah adonai eloheynu melech ha'olam
shehecheyanu, v'keyamanu, v'higeyanu lazman ha'zeh.
Blessed are you, Lord our God, ruler of the universe,
Who has kept us alive, provided for us, and let us reach this important time.
